Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (S-211 bill)

Effective January 1, 2024, Canada requires Canadian and foreign entities to submit an annual report to the Minister of Public Safety outlining their efforts to prevent forced and child labor in their supply chains.

Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)

The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), passed in 2024, requires large companies operating in Europe to take responsibility for identifying and preventing risks of forced labor within their supply chains.

The German Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains

Effective January 1, 2023, the German Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains requires companies to identify, prevent, and address human rights and environmental risks across their global supply chains.
France

French Corporate Duty of Vigilance Law

Passed on March 27, 2017, the French Corporate Duty of Vigilance Law requires large companies to develop and implement vigilance plans to identify and prevent human rights, environmental, and safety risks across their operations and global supply chains.
Norway

Norway’s Transparency Act

Enforced on July 1, 2022, Norway’s Transparency Act requires companies to conduct and publicly report due-diligence assessments related to human rights and working conditions throughout their supply chains.
